A loving interruption

Back to the archive

I know your brain’s already jumping ahead. Holiday offers, travel, family plans, a million tabs open for things you “should probably do before the year ends.”

But before you sprint into the season, I need you to do one thing:

👉 Open your calendar and block off rest time.

Not “if I finish everything.”Not “I’ll see how things go.”Literal, scheduled, protected rest.

ADHD brains need structure around rest just as much as work, because otherwise it gets lost in the noise of urgency and guilt.

Put it on your calendar now. Call it whatever you want:

  • “Cozy cave day”

  • “Do nothing and be proud of it”

  • “Recharge + reflect”

When it’s written down, it becomes real, and your nervous system starts to believe you’ll actually give it a break.

This is your permission slip (and your reminder): you are not a machine.

You don’t earn rest; you require it.

(I'm serious. Open your calendar and block off some rest time over the next couple months. Then send me a screenshot. We're all about accountability over here.)

Talk soon,

Em
